The Lore You Need For EVE In 2025 - Part 1 - The Deathless

The Second Empire's bio-experiment culture is the proximate cause of every modern Drifter / Sleeper / Jovian-Disease beat. Boore reunified Jove after the First Empire's collapse but his enabling of unrestricted experimentation is what produced the engineered defect that still terminates Jovians on a long-enough timeline.

Pre-collapse civilization whose remnants seed modern Anoikis. Their collapse coincides with the Yan Jung's — suggesting a common cause that current EVE lore has not surfaced. Talocan structures are the anchor points for modern wormhole-occupier Drifter tech research.

One of three pre-collapse civilizations. Yan Jung gravitonic technology is the structural ancestor of every stargate, warp drive, and cyno beacon in modern New Eden — including the Drone Graviton Emitter the rogue drones are now manufacturing in the Catalyst-era event. Their disappearance ~9000 AD remains canonically unexplained.

The Deathless Network is the operational layer between the Deathless himself and the pirate ecosystem. Functions as a black-market intel exchange — same shape as the Antagonists-chronicle Sentona/Lacante/Ishukone data trade, but with the Deathless rather than Ishukone as the terminal recipient. Where Intaki Bank's counter-insurgency is aimed.

Founding figure of Jove modernity. His political project (reunification) succeeded; the bio-experimental license he enabled produced the Jovian Disease that defines the entire Jove arc afterward. Cautionary canonical figure for what unrestricted research does inside a small genetically-tight population.

The current cycle's antagonist-of-record. Modern Deathless arc converges multiple long-running threads: stolen capsuleer-grade resources, unknown connection to Jove deep history (the name + immortality framing reads as Construct-derived), Pochven operations, Archbine defection. Counter-target of Intaki Bank / Upwell counter-insurgency.

The chronic existential crisis of the Jove. Every Jovian arc — turning to the Construct, the Sleeper transition, eventual Drifter emergence — is a response to this defect. Insorum's structural analog: Vitoxin is to the Mimitar what Jovian Disease is to the Jove, except the Jove engineered theirs themselves.

The Construct is the Jovian deep state — every Jove who matters has spent significant subjective time inside it. The 'one body, one mind' law is the constitutional safeguard around it. The Sleeper civilization is what happens when Jove-bound consciousnesses commit fully to the Construct and never come out. The Drifter emergence is canonically tied to whatever happened to those consciousnesses afterward.
